Production on the Leipzig Edition began in 1972 in Leipzig, Germany. Originally, 1000 copies of each of the 40 different chosen prints were produced. Of the 1000 copies, 500 sets were bound into two volumes, one with horizontal prints and one with vertical prints. The prints offered here are from the horizontal edition containing 20 prints. They were printed on heavy weight paper, double-elephant sized - 27 x 38 1/2 inches. Some of the prints have had their margins cropped, but still allow ample margins when matted and framed.
