Birds of America - Leipzig Edition 1972

 

This is a limited facsimile reproduction of the Havell edition.

 

Production on the Leipzig Edition began in 1972 in Leipzig, Germany. Originally, 1000 copies of each of the 40 different chosen prints were produced. Of the 1000 copies, 500 sets were bound into two volumes, one with landscape prints and one with vertical prints. They were printed, using a technique called "collotype", on heavy weight paper, double-elephant sized.
